We’ve upgraded the “My Recipes” area on BigOven.com to help you see all your recipes at a glance, and share them more easily with friends and family.
Improvements
1) Now uses all of widescreen
We’ve taken a design cue from Pinterest, and are using the entire width of the screen for the display of your recipes.
2) “My Recipes” no longer requires a login. So you can now share the URL with others!
If you notice, when you click on the “My Recipes” tab when you’re logged into BigOven.com, it will automatically redirect you to a URL of the form www.bigoven.com/myrecipes/{username}.
For instance, my username is stevemur, so the URL I can share for friends and family to see my favorites is http://www.bigoven.com/myrecipes/stevemur
We’ve added handy “Share on Facebook / Share on Pinterest” buttons for you in the upper right corner:
3) You can much more easily easily browse other cook’s public Favorites, Try Soons, and recipes they’ve Added for inspiration or reference
By this same principle, I can now easily browse other cook’s recipes very easily. We’ve got a lot of great contributors to BigOven. Some recipe pages I’d encourage you to visit are:
www.bigoven.com/myrecipes/sgrishka – sgrishka
www.bigoven.com/myrecipes/promfh – promfh
www.bigoven.com/myrecipes/ellie36 – ellie36
www.bigoven.com/myrecipes/cajuntoast – cajuntoast
4) Progressive loading rather than paging
The page loads with AJAX, providing a much smoother experience.
See the “More…” button at the bottom of the page:
When you click it, the next chunk of recipes will load, preserving the other ones on the page.
Give ideas to your friends and family!
Have you built up a recipe collection on BigOven? If so, consider sharing it with friends and family on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, your blog (if you have one) or your favorite sharing platform.
Just give them the URL and they’re set!
